गुरुकुल की प्रेरणा:- सप्त पुरियों में सर्वाधिक महत्त्वपूर्ण काशी के अस्सी क्षेत्र में राघव मंदिर नामक “श्री रामानंदी संप्रदाय का एक अति विशिष्ट मठ है । इसी मठ के पीठाधीश्वर में परम तपश्वी सिद्ध महात्मा हुए “श्री श्री १०८ संत श्री रामाधीनदास जी महाराज” । उनकी स्पष्ट मत था कि भारतवर्ष का उत्थान बिना संस्कृत भाषा अंगीकार के संभव नहीं है । संस्कृत वांग्ङमय अत्यंत अगाध है । जीवन के सभी पक्षों का सर्वांगीणता में जितना गहन विवेचन संस्कृत वांग्ङमय में उपलब्ध है वैसा अन्यत्र दुर्लभ है । अस्तु संस्कृत की अगाध ज्ञान राशि को आज की पीढ़ी तक सुगम रूप में पहूंचना आज की आवश्यकता है और हमारा सबसे बड़ा धर्म भी । इसी उदात्त भावना से प्रेरित महाराज श्री ने अपने प्रिय एवं सुयोग्य शिष्य “डा. मनोज ठाकुर” के समक्ष अपनी अभिलाषा को व्यक्त किया । एक समर्थ गुरु का समर्पित शिष्य को उतना संकेत पर्याप्त था । मानो जामवंत जी ने हनुमान जी को “राम काज लगि तव अवतारा” से जीवन का उद्देश्य स्पष्ट कर दिया और उसी महनीय प्रेरणा के परिणाम स्वरुप सन्:२००१ में डा. मनोज ठाकुर जी ने अपने परम पूज्य गुरुदेव की स्मृति में “संत श्री रामाधीनदास गुरुकुल” की स्थापना का, माँ भागीरथी एवं वरुणा के पवित्र संगम तथा कपिल मुनि की पावन तपस्थली कपिलधारा में,उद्दघोष किया ।
Kashi has ever been a cosmopolitan city. It has been the greatest seat of learning from time immemorial. It carries the reputation of being the academic, religious, spiritual and cultural capital of the world. In the assi ward of this heritage city there is a renound monestry pertaining to shreeramanand sect. widely revered saint shrishri 108 shriramadhin das used to be the head of the clan.
It was his candid-considered opinion that happening of complete wellness on the plant is not possible without taking recourse to Sanskrit. On some auspicious day while expressing his opinion before his most dedicated disciple dr. manoj Thakur, he pinned up the expectation to build an institution where theinvaluable treasure of oriental wisdom contained in the Sanskrit language is playfully imparted to the children free of cost. He further opined that the institution should also offer free fooding, boarding and health care to all the students. He was also of the view that endeavor should be made to simplify Sanskrit so as to make it more user friendly besides preserving the basic tenets and scientific temper of the divine language.
As if it was more than enough for a dedicated disciple, Dr. Thakur made it the mission of his life. He was so passionate that he left prestigious and highly remunerative associate professor’s job.And finally in the year 2001 on the confluence of holy ganzes and river varuna he laid the foundation of sant S.R.D. Gurukul, in fulfilment to the long cherished desire of his revered guru.
Our Mission
Founded by Dr. Manoj Thakur in 2001 in Varanasi, the organization is devoted to the cause of promoting and conserving the authentic and scientific temper of "Sanskrit" language. We are also working towards demystifying the basic tenets of world's eldest and most scientific language. It is also attempted to simplify and make “Sanskrit” more user friendly.Since its inception, this institution has successfully trained more than over 500 students who, now as flag bearers of the Gurukul, are radiating light of knowledge across the globe.
25 underprivileged children join the institution every year. The institution undertakes complete responsibility to develop these children into vibrant and self sufficient unit, so that they may lead a fulfilled life besides pouring out pleasantness and wellness in the surrounding.
आषाढ़ शुक्ल द्वितीया रथयात्रा के शुभ पुण्य मुहूर्त में सन् २००१ में काशी में पुण्य सलिला भागीरथी एवं वरुणा के पवित्र संगम एवं महर्षि कपिल की तपस्थली कपिलधारा में स्थापित यह संस्था संस्कृत भाषा की प्रमाणिकता एवं वैज्ञानिकता के संरक्षण एवं संवर्धन हेतु अहर्निश क्रियाशील है । इस संस्था द्वारा प्रशिक्षित किए जा चुके लगभग ५०० से अधिक विद्यार्थी देश-विदेश में संस्कृत की अनुपम छटा बिखेर रहे है । अपने ज्ञान, कर्म, ध्यान, योग, और संयम के वल पर राष्ट्र एवं समाज में विभिन्न स्तर पर स्वस्थ एवं सर्वागीण जीवन पद्धति के संवाहक के रूप में जन जागरण कर जन मानस में क्रांतिकारी परिवर्तन ला रहे हैं ।

वर्तमान में स्थानाभाव के कारण अपनी इच्छा और प्रयास के उपरान्त भी गुरुकुल पच्चास से अधिक छात्रों के आवास भोजन और अध्ययन की व्यवस्था नहीं कर पा रहा है । किन्तु संस्कृत भाषा एवं प्राच्य विद्या के ध्वज वाहको की उदारता असीम है । अतः हमें विश्वास है कि अति निकट भविष्य में गुरुकुल इतना साधन संपन्न होगा कि दो सौ बच्चों के सम्यक भरण, पोषण, आवास और शिक्षा की व्यवस्था भी कदापि दुष्कर नहीं होगी ।
